There are plenty of template communities and sharing websites like our own around the web – and they’re great – don’t get us wrong! But we want to say thanks the authors of the templates on these and our website by showcasing their homepages, here are 5 ones we’re highlighting today…
1. dcarter design
dcarter design‘s templates offer a number of unique, stylish, contemporary layouts with lots of extra features such as colour and theme switching using javascript and cookies. All the templates are released for free permitting a link back remains – a condition which can be waived by donating.
2. Creare Design
Creare Design‘s website, “Free Website Template Downloads”, hosts a number of bright and colourful designs for your website. All the designs are valid XHTML and CSS with SEO friendly and optimized markup.
3. Metamorphosis Design
Metamorphosis Design boasts a large collection of Free Web Templates, all of which are themed around a specific genre – from movies to golf to restaurants. Also on offer are a number of free WordPress themes and Flash templates too!
4. Rambling Soul
Rambling Soul‘s original free web templates contain some brilliant CSS layouts, all of which have been kindly released under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 license.
5. Styleshout
Styleshout’s original web templates feature some amazing work which could easily pass for premium content with multiple layouts and styles. Our personal favourite is VectorLover – a great two column layout for you to use.
6. spyka Webmaster
We haven’t included this site with the other 5 because we are affiliated, however that doesn’t change the fact that spyka Webmaster offers some great free CSS templates and forum styles. All are XHTML and CSS valid and released under either the Creative Commons Attribution license or the GPL.
